Bolivia – Cacti in Uyuni

I am trying to work on my B&W HDR images, this is an area that I really haven't experimented in. I have seen a lot of really nice B&W HDRs on G+ and decided to take a stab at it. I like how it came out. Comments and criticism welcome :)

This photo is taken at the Salt Flats of Uyuni, Bolivia. If I remember correctly I am standing on what they call "Fish Island". The reason they call it this is because as you approach the island in the middle of the gigantic "salt lake" (what would appear to be sand in this photograph is indeed sand), you see a blob on the horizon. Due to the mirage effect and a sort of optical illusion, the island seems to float in the shape of a fish. Once you get there, your are presented will all these cacti that have been there for hundreds of years. It was a great experience.

Boliva – Church in La Paz

Here is a shot of the exterior of a Church in La Paz, Bolivia, taken during my trip in November of Last year. A Nice sunny day, but unprepared for the shots I wanted to take. I really enjoy taking photos of Churches, something that I picked up while living in Florence for half a year.

Bolivia – Train Cementery

This is taken at a train Cementery near the city of Uyuni. These trains are the remains of a failed mining industry, that collapsed in the 1940s, at which point the trains were abandoned. These are about a dozen or so trains littering the landscape, which people over the years have appropriated, and have used them as chalk boards. I still have a lot of pictures from my Bolivia trip in November that need to be processed, this is one that made it through post.
